Hands On Charlotte - 9/11 Week of Remembrance Project
On September 8, 2011, Team Sakrete along with more than 100 local Home Depot associates, volunteer to help build Lincoln Heights Neighborhood Park in Charlotte, NC. Charlotte Mecklenburg Parks and Rec had the property for many years but never had the resources to complete the project.
Sakrete of North America and Oldcastle Lawn and Garden were donating sponsors, contributing 210 bags of 80# Sakrete Concrete Mix and 30 bags of 50# Sakrete Fast Setting Concrete Mix through an area Home Depot and sister company, Oldcastle Lawn and Garden, donated mulch through Blue Max of Charlotte.
The project was part of 9/11 Week of Service & Remembrance and included playground, community garden, paths, benches, picnic tables and fencing.
