CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Credited with 27 quarterback sacks during the 2009 NFL regular season, Julius Peppers, line backer for the Carolina Panthers, has been named the winner of the 2009 Sakrete Sack™ Program. The program will make a donation on behalf of Peppers to the Business Volunteer Council, a coalition of local businesses that promote volunteerism.
The Sakrete Sack Program tracks the number of quarterback sacks for the Carolina Panthers. Sakrete will make a monetary donation of $4,000 along with in-kind product donations to the Business Volunteer Council to be used toward the playground build at Pawtuckett Elementary School in April.
This year’s donation brings the company’s total contribution up to $86,500 since the Sakrete Sack Program was launched in 2006.
“This is our fourth year sponsoring the Sakrete Sack Program and we are pleased to continue our relationship with the National Football League,” said Johnsie Beck, president of Sakrete of North America. “We share the same commitment to community responsibility and look forward to continuing the program next year.”
Sakrete was founded in 1936 and is the original dry cement mix brand in North America. The Sakrete brand is owned and managed by Oldcastle APG/Bonsal American, Inc. Bonsal American is headquartered in Charlotte, N.C. For additional information about Sakrete, call 1-800-738-1621.
