Repairing Long Cracks in Asphalt

Featured Product: Blacktop Crack Filler

PREPARATION

  • Use a scraper and/or brush to remove loose material, grass or debris from the repair area.
  • Once any unstable material, grass or other debris has been loosened and removed from the crack.
  • Use a blower to clear the repair area for an optimal repair application.

APPLICATION

  • Shake the Blacktop Crack Filler bottle well.
  • Clip the tip of the spout diagonally.
  • Generously apply the repair material directly on top and in line with the crack, covering the area completely.
  • Use a wide putty knife to smooth out the repair material before it begins to dry.

Allow the repair material to dry 2 to 3 days before allowing foot or vehicle traffic. Allow 5 days before applying sealer.

Sakrete Blacktop Crack Filler is brown in color at the time of application but turns black once dried.

This calculator is based on a 3/8" mortar joint. All yields are approximate and do not include an allowance for waste, uneven subgrade or any other variations from the joint size and brick and block sizes noted above.
